Credit for Prior Learning

Skill demonstrations and/or transcript records of prior coursework aligning with Tulsa Tech course objectives may be considered.


The steps for requesting credit for prior learning are:

  1. The student completes a Credit for Prior Learning Evaluation form. The application should include an official transcript from an accredited school, a license, an industry certification, or similar supporting documents at least 2 weeks prior to class start date.
  2. Students seeking credit by exam may be charged fees to cover testing costs.
  3. Tulsa Tech’s Admissions office will notify the student of the results of the prior credit review.

Please Note: Prior credit may decrease the amount of federal financial aid received by qualified applicants.Credit awarded for previous coursework will be indicated on the student’s transcript with a grade of “T”. Prior credit will not affect a student’s GPA.
