Dr. Jim Baker

Dr. Jim Baker is regarded as one of the top CareerTech School Board Member’s and Educators in the State of Oklahoma.

He holds a Doctorate from Oklahoma State University in Occupational and Adult Education, master’s in education and bachelor's in business administration from the University of Tulsa.

In terms of public service, he holds two commissions in Law Enforcement, serving forty-two years as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Tulsa County Sherrif's Office. He also holds a Certification in Advance Disaster Training and has been granted an official FEMA ID number. Dr. Baker has spent 42 years teaching in secondary and postsecondary education.

All of this gathered, Dr. Baker has received the following honors. He was named to the Oklahoma Schools Boards All-State School Board; a select group of five board members out of more than 3500 members across the state. He has been honored by being named to the Technology Center Hall of Fame. He was also named Jenks Public School Teacher of the year, State Marketing Education and Oklahoma Vocational Teacher of the Year. He has received numerous Commendation for Service from the TCSO. It is clear to see why Dr. Baker is considered one of top CareerTech School Board members in the state. 

He is serving as the 2024 – 2025 President of the Board of Education at Tulsa Technology Center.
